Dr Jannie Tay’s every step towards the betterment of humanity has always been spontaneous. It stems from a need to immediately create a change and fly into action while calling in like-minded friends and partners to work together.

Trees are the worlds oldest and largest living things, if a tree can grow large, it's an indication the environment is healthy--healthy enough to support a tree. Several ginkgo trees survived the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. One was just a mile from the blast centre!

Over the years she has established and been a part various organizations working for humanitarian causes in Singapore and worldwide.

The primary ones include the Timor Leste Foundation, where Dr Jannie Tay presides as the Chairman alongside the Timor Leste's President and First Lady, to rebuild agricultural capabilities and provide employment to the youth. Aloha Foundation is another such organisation focussing on mother and childcare. Her significant contributions include raising funds for the National Council of Social Services, the Autism Resource Centre, The Canossian School for the Hearing Impaired and the Ong Teng Cheong Music Fund
