Up the Earth's energy through
reforestation |
|
|
What seemed to be a simple plan to
rejuvenate the planet was equally
complex in its execution. Dr Jannie Tay
in her quest to reduce the depleting
forests through reforestation faced a
number of hurdles along the way but it
was her firm determination and
relentless commitment to save our planet
that urged her to go on against all
odds.
Since 1995, Dr Jannie Tay has been
growing trees across Asia. Today she has
about 20,000 Teak, 80,000 Milaopai,
840,000 Acacia and a number of
Eucalyptus trees spread across 1400
hectares (20,000 Mu). She believes her
present accomplishment of 1.2 million
trees is just the beginning of her final
quest-One billion trees. |
